We invite applications for the UK's first Fellowships in Clinical Artificial Intelligence. The post duration is 1 year at 2 days/wk, beginning in May 2022. It is open to specialty trainees in the London region and Kent Surrey Sussex region. These fellowships are funded and supported by Health Education England. Fellows will gain expertise in Clinical Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an integrated pathway alongside their specialty training and implement groundbreaking work in the use of state-of-the-art AI software in live hospital environments. Sensyne Health signs collaboration agreement with Bayer to accelerate the development of new treatments for cardiovascular disease using Clinical Artificial Intelligence
Sensyne Health plc (LSE: SENS), the British clinical AI technology company, today announces that it has signed an initial two-year collaboration agreement with Bayer to accelerate the clinical development of new treatments for cardiovascular disease using Sensyne Health's proprietary clinical AI technology platform. The initial agreement will generate revenues for Sensyne Health of ยฃ5 million across the two-year collaboration. Sensyne Health's partner NHS trusts will receive a 4% share of all revenues generated by Sensyne Health under this collaboration. This will be in addition to the NHS Trust's existing shareholdings in Sensyne Health plc. The NHS Long Term Plan identifies cardiovascular disease as a clinical priority and the leading condition where lives can be saved by the NHS over the next 10 years.

Dubbed the Center for Clinical Artificial Intelligence, the new center will be focused on innovation around using AI and machine learning in clinical practice and healthcare delivery. The center โ which sits under the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise Analytics umbrella โ is meant to act as a central point to convene clinicians researchers, engineers and technologists to conduct research and develop best practices for the use of AI in medicine. The center will also facilitate collaboration between academia and industry. By creating a named center around innovation in AI, the health system hopes to speed up efforts to leverage the data assets from from over a million patients to develop models to help predict potential clinical issues and readmission risks.

The new Cleveland Clinic Center for Clinical Artificial Intelligence, launched by Cleveland Clinic Enterprise Analytics, will leverage machine learning, deep learning and natural language processing to power diagnostics, disease prediction, as well as treatment planning. "We realize that there's a lot of opportunity in the space of artificial intelligence to advance patient care and outcomes," says Aziz Nazha, MD, who has been appointed director of the center and associate medical director for AI. "The mission is to harness the power of artificial intelligence to improve healthcare delivery and medical research by focusing on the clinical needs of the patients." By bringing together specialists from various departments, including genetics, IT, laboratory, pathology and radiology, the center will develop innovative clinical AI applications such as machine learning algorithms designed to reduce the risk of hospital readmission and to predict patient response to cancer treatments, according to Nazha.
